itel is one of the leading manufacturers of entry-level cell phones that, despite being based in China, focuses on its operations in emerging markets such as India. This Thursday (22), the brand presented its new bet in the Asian country: the Vision 3 Turbo, its new “basicão” that seeks to deliver a balanced set in price and benefit.

The itel Vision 3 Turbo features a large 6.6-inch IPS LCD display with HD+ resolution (720 x 1600 pixels) and peak brightness of 480 nits. There is a teardrop notch that houses its 5 MP front camera. Despite the regrets, the Vision 3 Turbo delivers 91% area utilization to deliver a good visual experience in its price range.

At the rear, the camera island has three blocks, but only two are functional lenses. The main sensor has a resolution of 8 MP with Full HD video recording support. The secondary lens possibly houses a depth sensor to offer portrait mode.

The Vision 3 Turbo is equipped with the Unisoc SC9863A, a 28-nanometer process manufactured platform with 8 ARM Cortex-A55 cores up to 1.6 GHz and a PowerVR GE8322 GPU. The chipset has 3GB of RAM — expandable to up to 6GB with “virtual memory” capability — and 64GB of internal storage.

Powering this hardware is a 5,000mAh battery with support for 18-watt fast charging. The cell phone stands out in its price range for offering reverse charging technology, allowing it to supply power to accessories and other devices. This is the feature that names the phone as the “Turbo” version of itel Vision 3.

Other specs include its support for facial biometric unlocking and fingerprint reader on the rear which, in addition to security, also serves as a shortcut to open the camera app, answer calls and turn off an alarm. The phone will leave the factory running Android 11, with no planned update to Android 12 or 13.

The itel Vision 3 Turbo is now available in the Indian market with MSRP of 7,699 rupees (about Rs.. There are three color options: green, light blue and dark blue. For now, there is no forecast of availability in other countries.
