Petrobras reduces the price of cooking gas from Friday, 23

Petrobras announced this Thursday afternoon, 22nd, a new reduction in the sale prices of cooking gas. Fuel will be cheaper at refineries from Friday the 23rd.

The average sale price for distributors of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), cooking gas, will increase from R$4.0265/kg to R$3.7842/kg, equivalent to R$49.19 for 13 kg, an average reduction of R$ 3.15 per 13 kg.

“This reduction follows the evolution of reference prices and is consistent with Petrobras’ pricing practice, which seeks to balance its prices with the market, but without passing on to domestic prices the conjunctural volatility of quotations and the exchange rate. ”, justified the oil company, in a note.

diesel reduction

Last Monday, Petrobras announced a 5.7% reduction in the average price of a liter of diesel A sold at its refineries. As a result, the price of fuel drops by R$0.30 per liter, from R$5.19 to R$4.89. The new values went into effect on Tuesday, the 20th, and should cause new drops at the pumps in the coming weeks.

If the mandatory blend of 90% diesel A and 10% biodiesel is considered for the composition of the diesel sold at gas stations, Petrobras’ share of the consumer price will rise from R$4.87, on average, to R$4.67 for every liter sold at the pump, the company said in a statement.

This is the third downward adjustment of the administration of Caio Paes de Andrade, initiated at the end of June and adopted by the government as a solution for the escalation in the value of fuels. Prior to this morning’s announcement, Petrobras had disclosed a reduction of BRL 0.22 per liter on August 11, a 4% discount and therefore lower than the current one.
