The federal deputy re-elected by Minas Gerais André Janones (Avante) recorded a video this Tuesday (4/10), raising suspicions about the relationship of Jair Bolsonaro (PL) with Freemasonry. Old records of the presidential candidate in Masonic lodges were rescued on social media and caused questions from the president’s Christian electorate and his political opponents.

In a broadcast on social media, Janones reports an opportunity he had to join Freemasonry and said he was warned about the need to “sell his soul” to accept the invitation. The deputy was quoted as a nominee for the presidency by his party, but withdrew the candidacy to support the campaign of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) for the Planalto.

“In 2012 I had a fiancée and at that time I received an invitation to join Freemasonry. I wasn’t a Christian yet, I hadn’t given my life to the Lord and I was going to accept that ritual thing they have there and such. On the day of accepting the invitation, my then-mother-in-law invited me into a conversation with the entire family of my then-fiancée. She showed me a video of Uncle Chico, whoever is from that time will remember, the evangelical brothers remember it, where he explains what happens there, the people who sell their souls, the deal with the goat there, etc. , who is evangelical and recorded the video in front of the Temple of Solomon, headquarters of the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God, in São Paulo-SP.

In the sequence, Janones says that the reason he is recording the video is to warn Christians about Bolsonaro. He alleges that the president may have involved the names of voters to gain the support of the Freemasons. The deputy ends the recording asking for the material to be shared.

“And I want to warn the brothers: we don’t know what Bolsonaro negotiated there in Freemasonry for them to support him. I’m not saying he did it, but I can’t guarantee, for example, that he didn’t negotiate on behalf of the voters themselves. If in the pact he made it did not involve the name of the voters themselves,” he stated.

Freemasonry is not a religious group, but the entry of Christians into the community is prohibited by the Catholic Church and several evangelical denominations. The origin of Masonic associations dates back to the 14th century, originally formed by builders.
