This Thursday (24th) it was announced that after the murder of assistant teacher Alessandra Abdalla, 45 years old, there will be no classes at the Núcleo de Educação Infantil (NEIN) Tapera, in the south of Florianópolis this Friday (25th), the school where Alessandra worked and location that was close when she was killed by her ex-partner.
After the news about the murder, a multidisciplinary team, made up of three psychologists and a social worker, went to the headquarters of the early childhood education center to support teachers, classroom assistants and other employees.
They stayed with the teacher’s family, a pedagogue and a psychologist, in order to provide the necessary support to the family members.
Next week, the Municipal Department of Education organized a team of psychologists and social workers to accompany the unit’s professionals and carry out listening and reception.
Maurício Fernandes Pereira, Secretary of Education, reiterates that the day is one of sadness, indignation, perplexity. “I want to sympathize with all professionals in the municipal education network, especially with women. My affectionate hug also to the relatives of dear teacher Alessandra”.
Maurício emphasizes that femicide is a type of “aggravated homicide”, a heinous crime. “Enough of the misogyny, disgust and hatred of women. Men are not masters of women’s bodies and lives”, vents the Secretary of Education.

Assistant teacher Alessandra Abdalla, 45, was shot dead by her former partner while on her way to work, this Thursday morning (24). The crime took place a few meters from the Núcleo de Educação Infantil (NEIN) Tapera, in the south of Florianópolis.
According to the City Hall of the municipality, which communicated the death, it already had a protective measure against the suspect. Sintrasem (Union of Workers in the Municipal Public Service of Florianópolis) reported, in a note of regret, that the former partner is a military police officer and did not accept the end of the relationship.
The Military Police was contacted by SCC10 and issued a statement. The institution reported that it was possible to identify the suspect by images of the scene. He is a military police officer assigned to the 4th Battalion of the PM, he was restricted from operational service and worked in the administrative department.
Regarding the protective measure against the suspect, the Battalion command clarified that it was unaware of it.
Still according to the PM, the shots occurred after an argument with the woman. He is on the run and searches are taking priority with the support of BOPE (Special Operations Battalion).
Alessandra Abdalla has been a public servant since 2014 and leaves a daughter.
