DEN BOSCH – Jan van Mil (88) from Den Bosch received a Royal decoration on Friday afternoon. De Bosschenaar has been appointed Member of the Order of Orange-Nassau for all his voluntary work in sport. He has been very active in ‘his’ BVV in particular.
How could it be otherwise: at BVV, the Bosschenaar was awarded the ribbon. He has been voluntarily active in the sport since 1964 and with more than 55 years of volunteer work, he is one of the pillars of the club on Victorialaan. Van Mil has worked for BVV for 34 years as a board member, and was also involved in hospitality (relationship management with the KNVB and visiting teams/associations), the realization of program booklets and canteen management.
Van Mil has also been concerned about the history of the club for decades. He built up a rich collection, which has led to a permanent retrospective on the site. “BVV is so in my heart, I have come to love that club,” Van Mil said to Brabants Dagblad in 2021.
All his achievements have not gone unnoticed at the KNVB. In 1996 he received the silver pin and in 2006 the gold pin for football in general and BVV.
