On the morning of this Saturday (18), the joint effort to carry out medical examinations takes place. There will be four service points for the population, where additional tests will be carried out for patients in the public service network.
The action takes place simultaneously in private clinics in Cascavel, of which two completed the exams scheduled during the morning. And two others continue calls until 18 pm. The Secretary of Health, Miroslau Bailak, was present and pointed out that the action is a test and one of the clinics carried out 60 tests this morning.
The Mayor of Cascavel, Leonaldo Paranhos also accompanied the action by visiting all the clinics throughout the morning. The Mayor highlighted the importance of the action: “citizens don’t want to know if it’s a government action, they want to solve their problem and we are managing to solve this situation which is a big bottleneck in Cascavel”, he explained.
Some of the patients who were treated today were waiting from one to three months for the exams to be carried out.
The free procedures are made possible due to the release of resources from the tax amendments presented by the 21 councilors of Cascavel. In all, R$ 2.1 million in funds were released. Councilors Jeferson Cordeiro and Vilmar Melo were also present during the action, and commented on the release of the amendment and the services provided to the population throughout the morning.
As informed by the Municipality, the release is atypical, since it does not have legal autonomy to perform surgeries and complementary exams, except in situations like these in which it has the amendments released by the councilors.
