Al-Riyadh – Mohamed Al-Atlas – a high-caliber artist, one of the beauties of cinema. She started her artistic life with small roles until she became “The Hanim of Egyptian Cinema”. The most beautiful eyes of the artist Safia Al-Omari, who was paralyzed by President Mohamed Hosni Mubarak, married a famous minister and lost her fortune because of Sheikh Mohamed Metwally Al-Shaarawy.
Safia Mustafa Al-Omari is her real name. She was born on January 20, 1949 in the city of Al-Mahalla Al-Kubra in the Gharbia Governorate. She graduated from the Faculty of Commerce and did not work in her field of study, but rather went to study the Russian language, so she worked for a while as a translator at international conferences. Safia dreamed of being a musician or a ballerina. Her artistic beginnings were when she won a talent show to work in presenting programs, where she was surprised by publishing her photos in various newspapers, which aroused the interest of critics and artwork makers to search for the beautiful girl with those pictures. Producer Naguib Ramses discovered her and encouraged her to enter acting, as he presented her in one of the films through a small role and tried to monopolize her artistically, but she refused, so she rebelled against him to make her way alone without being restricted from producers in the art world.
The audience loved her through various personalities that she presented in an impressive manner, whether in the cinema or television drama, and among these works, “Layali Al-Helmeya”, “Hwanim Garden City”, “Opera Aida”, “Love Does Not See the Sun”, “Al-Bayy Al-Bawab” and “Afarit” Al-Siyala, “Bebo and Bashir,” “Dreams of the Flying Boy,” “At the Gate of the Minister,” “I Who Killed Al-Hanash,” “Al-Masir,” “Al-Muhajir,” “Haret Al-Moez,” a Woman of Fire,” and many other works were chosen by nations. The United States was a goodwill ambassador in 1997, but apologized for continuing in the position in 2006, in protest against the war on Lebanon.Hanem Al-cinema was keen to keep her personal life away from the eyes of the press, as she married the Egyptian artist Jalal Issa, and that marriage resulted in two sons, “Walid and Ahmed”. But the marriage did not last long as it ended in a separation.
Some media reports revealed that Safia Al-Omari married for the second time to the Egyptian Minister of Defense, Field Marshal Muhammad Abdel Halim Abu Ghazala, but that marriage was customary, as he built her a legendary palace on the Corniche Street in Mokattam, after her divorce directly from her husband, artist Jalal Issa. Reports confirmed that the late President Mohamed Hosni Mubarak paralyzed Safiya Al-Omari, as the main reason behind her separation from Field Marshal “Abu Ghazaleh” was hit with the seventh nerve, forcing her to undergo electrical sessions, and these sessions caused a distortion of part of her face. Safia revealed that she was subjected to a scam, as she mentioned on one of the talk shows that she was exposed to a swindling incident that almost destroyed her entire fortune when a person who claimed to be from the late Sheikh Muhammad Metwally al-Shaarawy came to her and took a very large amount of her wealth.
Safia Al-Omari presented her latest work through a movie entitled “Foss of Salt and Darkness” in 2006, starring Amr Abdel Jalil, Heba Magdy, Abdel Rahman Abu Zahra, Mohamed Metwally, Inam Salousa and others, and directed by Tamer Bassiouni. Source: the summary
