The US Department of Justice revealed new information and details about the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s raid on Trump’s home and finding secret and sensitive documents last August.
The ministry said that during the search process, “empty folders” were found, marked as “secret”, but with the disappearance of the papers that were inside.
The ministry said it had conducted a detailed inventory of the confiscated materials, including the contents of 33 boxes found in an office and storage room inside Trump’s residence.
The inventory revealed the existence of more than 10,000 government records, but did not provide any details about the content of the records.
And he indicated that the documents containing “confidential information” were stored in boxes and containers at home, and that they were placed among newspapers, magazines, clothes and other personal items, according to the agency.
The department said Trump’s residence “has no safe place for such sensitive government secrets.”
The ministry has opened a “criminal investigation” regarding the presence of the documents there, and attempts to obstruct investigations during the past months.
The inventory revealed 43 empty folders marked as “secret” that were found in a box in the office, in addition to 28 empty folders written on them “returned to the General Staff” or the military assistant, were also found in a closet in the office.
The ministry said that it “reviewed the documents and separated the confidentiality of them” to ensure that they were stored according to appropriate protocols and procedures, according to the agency.
