According to Western media reports, Russian President Vladimir Putin was subjected to a failed assassination attempt, by means of an explosive device targeting his presidential car.

The British newspaper, The Sun, quoted sources it described as familiar and close to the Russian president, saying that Putin’s limousine was attacked by grenades from the left front wheel of the car, after which thick smoke was seen.

The newspaper pointed out that the Russian president was transferred to safety unharmed, explaining that there is a wave of arrests from the security service, according to the sources.

The British newspaper said that some of his bodyguards celebrated amid allegations that classified information about the Russian president’s movements had been hacked, according to the channel of an anti-Putin military leader on the application “Telegram”.

According to what was reported by “The Sun” on the anti-Putin channel “General SVR” on the Telegram application, the Russian president was returning to his official residence, where an ambulance of his 5-car convoy was intercepted.

The channel stated that the first car was intercepted in Putin’s motorcade, while the second made its way and was followed by the president’s car, and during the turn, an explosion was heard, followed by thick smoke, adding: “The body of a man was found driving the ambulance, which prevented the first car from Putin’s motorcade.” “.

And British media reported several news about the assassination attempt, while the Kremlin has not yet commented on this news

And last May, the head of Ukraine’s military intelligence, Kirillo Budanov, revealed that the Russian president had survived an assassination attempt at the start of the Ukrainian war.

In 2017, during a televised interview with Russian President Putin with American director Oliver Stone, the latter stated that Putin had been subjected to five assassination attempts during his three presidential terms. Putin commented on the American broadcaster’s speech by saying: “Whoever is written to death by hanging will not die by drowning, only God knows my fate and yours.”

The British newspaper, The Sun, said that Putin is obsessed with the idea that someone is trying to get rid of him, so he surrounds himself with an elite group of snipers and does not allow anyone to get too close to him.
