Today, Monday, the semi-official Fars News Agency reported that the Iranian police described the death of a young woman in detention as an “unfortunate accident” that she does not want to repeat, while the “Iran International” website revealed that the CT scan of Mahasa Amini showed a fracture of the skull. On the right side of her head due to complications caused by a direct blow to the head.

Mahsa Amini, 22, fell into a coma after she was arrested by the morality police in Tehran last week, sparking angry protests across the country over the way security forces treat women.

Police said at the weekend that Amini fell ill while waiting with other detained women. But Amini’s father told the pro-reformist news website IMDAD on Sunday that his daughter was healthy and did not suffer from health problems.

“The Iranian police have been brought humiliating accusations. We will wait until the day of the verdict, but we cannot stop carrying out security work,” Greater Tehran Police Chief Hossein Rahimi said in a statement carried by Fars news agency.

He added that Amini had not been mistreated, denying allegations on social media against the morality police, which enforce strict rules requiring women to cover their hair and wear loose-fitting clothes.

And he added, “Cowardly accusations have been leveled at the Iranian police. We will wait until the day the verdict is issued, but we cannot stop performing security work,” adding that the morality police “are doing a positive job.” He stated that he could not comment on the cause of death because this was a medical issue, not a security issue.

While the x-rays showed the presence of secretions and blood in her lungs. According to doctors, the accumulation of fluid in her lungs was caused by her entering a coma after a strong blow to her head.

Mahsa Amini’s CT scans are being published while student groups and organizations, labor unions and human rights organizations have issued calls for protest marches inside and outside the country.

However, Mahsa’s killing led to numerous protests across Iran, especially in her hometown, Saqqaz, and other Kurdish regions such as Sanandaj in western Iran.

Amini hails from the Kurdistan region of Iran, one of the areas that witnessed protests at the weekend, and from her hometown of Saqqaz.
