The appointment of Al-Zain Al-Sabah comes as a successor to Sheikh Salem Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah, who took over the Ministry of Foreign Affairs last October.

Who is Sheikha Al-Zain Al-Sabah?

Al-Zain Al-Sabah Al-Nasser Al-Saud Al-Sabah was born in 1974. She is a film producer, journalist, and former Undersecretary of the Ministry of State for Youth Affairs.

Sheikha El-Zein earned a BA in Journalism from Boston University in 1996, followed by a Masters in Cinematic Arts from the University of Southern California in 2003.

From 2002 to 2013, she held the position of Chairman and Managing Director of the “Eagle Vision” media group.

The Kuwaiti sheikha also issued a number of political talk shows for Kuwaiti television, and she also worked as a writer for the “First Boston” newspaper.
