Some websites and social media pages circulated news about stopping the completion of the remaining stages of the comprehensive health insurance system due to the lack of financial allocations. The Media Center of the Council of Ministers contacted the General Authority for Comprehensive Health Insurance and the General Authority for Health Care, and these reports were denied, and they confirmed that it is not true. To stop completing the remaining stages of the comprehensive health insurance system due to the lack of financial allocations, and they stressed the continuation of completing the rest of the stages of the comprehensive health insurance system without any interruption, as the first stage of implementing the new comprehensive health insurance system was completed, which included 6 governorates (Port Said, Luxor, Ismailia , South Sinai, Aswan, Suez), within 3 years of its launch in November 2019, and the second phase of the system will start in the governorates with the beginning of the new fiscal year, provided that the phased implementation of the new comprehensive health insurance system continues in the governorates, successively, to include all comprehensive health coverage governorates of the Republic by 2030.

In a related context, the new comprehensive health insurance system included the registration of about 5 million citizens in the six governorates for the first phase, namely: (Port Said, Luxor, Ismailia, Aswan, Suez, and South Sinai), and more than 19 million medical and treatment services were provided in the facilities of the General Authority for Welfare. As for primary care and family medicine services, which are the nucleus of the new comprehensive health insurance system, 9 million primary care services have been provided in family medicine facilities affiliated to the Health Care Authority in the governorates of ( Port Said, Luxor, Ismailia), in addition to conducting more than 270,000 operations under the umbrella of comprehensive health insurance, since the implementation of the comprehensive health insurance system in the governorates of “Port Said, Luxor and Ismailia” in accordance with the highest international practices and standards, and using the latest medical technologies, in addition to conducting more than 2.5 One million comprehensive medical examinations for beneficiaries of comprehensive health insurance in the governorates, which are conducted annually for each beneficiary of the new system, from the beginning of his use of the medical services of the new system, with the aim of Periodic and continuous follow-up and early detection of diseases or their causes, in order to ensure the health and safety of citizens.
