Urgent | Maintenance of the covering of the Holy Kaaba in preparation for the start of Ramadan

The Agency of the King Abdulaziz Complex for the Kiswa of the Holy Kaaba, represented by the General Administration for the Maintenance of the Kiswa of the Holy Kaaba in the Grand Mosque, has maintained the Kiswa of the Holy Kaaba, in preparation for the holy month of Ramadan, to preserve its splendor and appearance in its best form.

The Undersecretary of the King Abdulaziz Complex for the Covering of the Holy Kaaba, Eng. Amjad Al-Hazmi, indicated that according to the agency’s operational and technical plan, the Holy Kaaba dress is inspected on a daily basis and periodic maintenance is carried out by a specialized Saudi work team, some of whom have 29 years of experience, as the team concerned with the task inspects all Parts of the covering of the Kaaba and the rings that fix it, and work to fix the notes immediately, if any.

He stated that the work team of specialists and technicians is keen to organize the work and prioritize it according to the approved plan, in preparation for the blessed month of Ramadan, and that the team members work according to the highest standards of accuracy and quality in performance and achievement in record time.

Al-Hazmi stressed that the Presidency uses the latest technologies and the best materials with international specifications in carrying out maintenance work on the covering of the Holy Kaaba, with the continuous support of the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Highness the Crown Prince, His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz – may God protect them – to take care of them. And interest in the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque and their pilgrims in general, and the Holy Kaaba in particular over many decades.

The Director of the General Administration for the Maintenance of the Kiswa of the Holy Kaaba in the Grand Mosque, Mr. Fahd Al-Jabri, explained that this work comes among the periodic works on which the unit for the care of the Kiswa of the Holy Kaaba is based, as these works are summarized in installing a cloth with a height of three meters from all sides of the Holy Kaaba in addition to tightening and weighing the garment The Kaaba and fixing it from the sides, as well as the work of cleaning the Kaaba cladding from all angles, adding that the black stone and the Yemeni corner will be changed.

And that these works come in implementation of the directives of the General President for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, Sheikh Dr. Abdul Rahman bin Abdulaziz Al-Sudais, and continuous follow-up from the Assistant General President for the Affairs of the King Abdulaziz Complex for the Holy Kaaba Cladding and Engineering, Technical and Operational Affairs, Engineer Sultan bin Ati Al-Qurashi.
