Fairleigh Dickinson became the second 16th seed to be a single seed on Friday when she beat Purdue 63-58.
It was the biggest upset in the history of March Madness, but if you’ve followed any number of sports apps, you’ve seen plenty of acronyms for the New Jersey schoolboy:
“fair. rooster”.

It was also a way to shorten the name on some betting slips, so hopefully this punter will follow
But of course, the internet had a field day.
The Knights defeated Purdue despite 21 points and 15 rebounds from 7’4″, 300-pound Jack Eddy, while the average height of FDU players is a foot shorter.

Obviously, size doesn’t matter in matches, but, well, you know where this is going.
HTV98 tweeted, “Fair Dick, once and for all prove it doesn’t matter.”

Another user wrote: “Perdue couldn’t handle Verdeck.”
Remember, the 15-ranked St. Peter’s Peacock ran the Elite 8 last year. Oral Roberts was eliminated in the first round this year, but the jokes wrote themselves there.
One fan said it was a preview of what’s to come.
“Oral Roberts and Peacock walked so Fer Deck could run,” @ryanramoneda tweeted.
It should also be noted that “fair. rooster”. He played Longwood earlier this year, who played in last year’s Championship. Longwood won, 99-83.
