Today, gold prices in Egypt witnessed a slight decrease, to record 21 carat gold, which is the best-selling in Egypt, 2065 pounds per gram, compared to levels of 2100 pounds yesterday, with intense speculation on gold in the Egyptian market, and trading in gold in Egypt and the global stock exchange stops during Saturday and Sunday of each week.

Gold witnessed an exceptional performance during the week ending, returning to the fore at all levels and becoming the first investment in financial markets, after the wave of banking crises that shook global markets, and changing bets on interest rate movements by the Federal Reserve Bank, according to gold Bullion.
Spot gold prices rose by 6.5% during the past week, recording the largest weekly rise in 3 years, reaching the highest level in 11 months at $1989.07 an ounce, and knocking on the doors of the psychological target level by the markets at $2000 an ounce.
Gold has risen since the beginning of the year so far by 8.8%, while gold recorded its last peak above $2,000 in March 2022 when it reached $2,070.29 an ounce, which matches the high record of approximately $2,076.0 an ounce that was recorded in August 2020.
Yesterday, Friday, spot gold prices rose by 3.6% at once, at a time when the dollar index, which measures the performance of the federal currency against a basket of 6 major currencies, declined by 0.6%, to record a decrease for the third consecutive week by 0.7%.
