It was less than a week after the dDisappearance of Yvan Colonnawho died on March 21 as a result of the attack he suffered in detentionMarch 2, at the prison from Arles. On March 27, the nationalist sympathizer Dan Lodi organized a gathering in memory of the deceased, Place de la République, in Paris.

Having been the subject of no declaration in the prefecture, the rally was cut short and Dan Lodi was calmly arrested by an impressive group of police officers from the Motorized Violent Action Repression Brigade (BRAV.M).

The following day, the activist spent several hours in police custody and came out with a summons before the Paris Criminal Court.

It is on September 6 that Dan Lodi must appear, as part of an appearance on prior recognition of guilt (CRPC), also known as the so-called “plead guilty” procedure. The form of this hearing suggests that the defendant admitted in police custody the charges against him and that the two parties could agree on a sentence.

However, the signals sent by Dan Lodi on social networks suggest that the hearing could not be a simple formality.

On the video of his arrest, first, we can clearly hear the activist pointing to the police officers around him, indicating that “the assassins take him away”.

Subsequently, he will distribute a photo of his summons to court, on which he took the trouble to cross out the mention “French nationality” by replacing it with “Corsican” then by crossing out the mention “retired” to replace it with ” always at war”.

So many elements that suggest that Dan Lodi, also a convinced Yellow Vest, could take advantage of this audience and its media coverage to use it as a platform. For the offense of illegally organizing a demonstration, the penalties provided for by law are up to 6 months’ imprisonment and a fine of €7,500.
