Tangier – The Republic of Cape Verde received, on Saturday in Tangier, the MEDays 2022 Grand Prix, on the occasion of the closing of the 14th edition of the MEDays Forum (November 2-5), placed under the High Patronage of HM the King Mohammed VI.

The MEDays 2022 Grand Prix was presented to the President of Cape Verde, José Maria Pereira Neves, by the President of the Amadeus Institute, Brahim Fassi Fihri. This ceremony took place in the presence of the Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda, Gaston Browne, and the Minister of Economic Inclusion, Small Business, Employment and Skills, Younes Sekkouri.

According to the initiators of this Grand Prix, Cape Verde is a “model of democratic development, stability and economic resilience, and a country fully committed to South-South cooperation”.

Over the past eight years, Cape Verde has consistently recorded high level performance in the development indices ranking 7th in the index of attractiveness in Africa and 4th in the index of political stability in the 2022 ranking of the Amadeus Institute and Casablanca Finance City Authority.

In a statement to M24, MAP’s continuous news channel, at the end of this award ceremony, President Pereira Neves underlined the importance of the MEDays Forum for Africa.

“We need to think strategically about the future and MEDays is a space for strategic analysis thinking about Africa, the challenges now facing and the process of transformation to ensure that the continent can cope with any crisis situation that we live today,” he explained.

In this regard, Mr. Pereira Neves indicated that “Morocco is an inspiration for Africa”, praising the “very intelligent vision for the future” of the Kingdom.

For the Cape Verdean president, the Kingdom is an emerging country with which Cape Verde must work to strengthen the ties of friendship and cooperation with the entire African continent.

Organized by the Amadeus Institute under the High Patronage of HM King Mohammed VI, the MEDays 2022 Forum was marked by numerous debates and interactions, through more than 50 sessions and round tables led by more than 250 renowned international speakers, including heads of state and government, ministers, Nobel prize winners, heads of international organizations, business leaders, investors and many personalities from more than 100 countries, who came to share their points of view and their readings of the major developments and multiple current upheavals around more than 5,000 participants.
