The emergency services found the lifeless bodies of two people on Thursday, a figure that amounts to four the total number of deaths after torrential rain swept away a group of hikers while visiting a waterfall in southern Taiwan.
The incident occurred on May 20, when, while ten hikers were exploring an area of the Flying Dragon Waterfall, heavy rainfall was recorded in the area, the island agency CNA reported. Five of them were swept away by the current, while the other five members of the group were rescued by helicopter on May 21.
The local authorities mobilized 13 people to work in the rescue work and, on Thursday morning, they located two bodies through the use of drones, the agency reported. Rescue teams continue to search for the person who remains missing.
