
AppleTV+ has presented today the trailer of one of its bets for this summer, mid-air hijacking (hijack)a thriller starring Idris Elbe, which follows the journey of a hijacked plane as it en route from Dubai to London. A seven hour trip that is narrated in real time in seven episodes, in the purest style of 24in the course of which authorities on land struggle to find answers.
Elba (Luther) plays Sam Nelson, a successful negotiator in the corporate world who must step up and use all his cunning to try to save the lives of the passengers, although his risky strategy could also be his downfall. Archie Panjabi (The Good Wife, Blindspot) is Zahra Gahfoor, an anti-terrorist agent who is on the ground when the plane is hijacked and becomes part of the investigation.
Along with Elba and Panjabi, the cast completes it Kate Phillips (Peaky Blinders), Max Beesley (The visitor), Eve Myles (A very English scandal), Neil Maskell (Litvinenko), Aimee Kelly (The incredible story of David Copperfield), Mohamed Elsandel and Ben Miles (Andor), among others.

The series is created by George Kay (Lupin, Criminal) and Jim Field Smith (Criminal, Truth Seekers), who have written the scripts and directed the episodes respectively.
ANDste the first project to emerge from the development agreement between Elba and his production company, Green Door Pictures, with Apple TV+ in 2020. Company credits include comedy In The Long Run, created and starring the actor and producer. The company also produced the comedy series Turn Up Charlie and the movie Concrete Cowboydirected by Ricky Staub and premiered at the Toronto Film Festival before joining the Netflix catalog.

mid-air hijacking lands on Apple TV+ on Wednesday June 28, 2023 with its first two episodes, followed by a new chapter every Wednesday until August 2.
