The Neuquén Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources reported that in recent days, after the President Néstor Kirchner Gas Pipeline (GPNK) came into operation, the province is injecting 100 million cubic meters of gas per day into the system, which represents a new production record.
“We continue on this upward path of production, which makes us very happy because it not only means more work and growth for our province, but also greater economic independence for the country, which thus reduces its needs for energy imports,” said the Governor of Neuquén, Omar Gutiérrez.
The president stressed that thanks to the recent commissioning of the President Néstor Kirchner gas pipeline, “the decrease in the purchase of liquefied natural gas is already a reality, the price of which is well above the gas produced here.”
Gas production in the province increased 0.43% in July compared to the previous month, reaching 91.42 million cubic meters per day.
On the other hand, the year-on-year increase was 0.29% and the accumulated increase for the first seven months of the year was also positive at 2.03%.
As indicated by the Neuquén Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, the increase compared to June is mainly explained by the increase in production in the Aguada Pichana Oeste, Loma La Lata-Sierra Barrosa, Rincón del Mangrullo and El Orejano areas. , all located in the Vaca Muerta geological formation.
