A car caught fire in an open field in La Lonja and the fire caused the CNG pipe of the vehicle to explode. The explosion was heard several kilometers away. around and several neighbors told El Diario that the windows in their houses began to vibrate.
The incident occurred around 9 p.m. this Saturday in an open field located on the street The Chañares of the Los Tilos neighborhood of La Lonja. The Presidente Derqui Volunteer Firefighters managed to control the flames while Civil Defense, police and Urban Guard personnel also worked at the scene.
Hours after the incident, police sources indicated that it was a Peugeot 206 that was apparently stolen and that the criminals left the place and then set it on fire. It is an open area surrounded by an important grove of trees. The nearest house is about 150 meters away.

The explosion generated uncertainty among neighbors. It was heard in places that are almost six kilometers away. This is the case of Miry Zarratea, who on El Diario’s social networks began that from the Pellegrini neighborhood “an earthquake was heard and felt.” Closer, on the Caamaño Street corridor, several frontists were on alert and reported the vibration of the windows of houses and vehicles.

Until now, the color or license plate of the vehicle could not be established, in both cases as a result of the fire. It was also not possible to know where the vehicle came from and, if it was confirmed that a car had been stolen, determine where it was stolen and who the criminals are.
