The former president of the United States, Donald Trump will again not participate in the second Republican debate which is scheduled for Wednesday of next week in California, because he will give a speech to unionists in the automotive sector in Detroit, Michigan.

Like last time, Trump will give a speech before about 500 union members that will be broadcast in prime time, according to The New York Times, cited by the Efe agency.

In August, Trump avoided the first Republican debate, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to grant a prime time interview to the former Fox News host and renowned far-right journalist Tucker Carlson.

The announcement comes during the fourth day of strike by auto workers in Detroit, represented by United Auto Worker (UAW), against the main manufacturers in the countryto whom they demand a 40 percent increase in their salaries and improve working hours and conditions.

The news of Trump’s rally in Detroit at a key moment for the automotive sector in that city has aroused the reaction of unions such as that of plumberswho have described the politician as a “fraud.”

While his event is being held in Detroit, the second Republican debate will take place, which sIt will take place on Wednesday the 27th at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley (California).
