Codename: Ronahî Devrim
Name and Surname: Berfîn Serhatlı
Place of Birth: Wan
Names of mother and father: Fatma – Ferhat
Date and place of death: August 26, 2022 / Medya Defense Zones

Ronahî Devrim was born in Wan-Erdîş. Many of her relatives have joined the guerrillas. Ronahî was active in the Kurdish youth movement for a while. When IS attacked Shengal and Rojava, they opted for armed struggle. In 2015 she went to the guerrillas in Bazid in the mountains. She stayed briefly in the Tendûrek area and then came to the Medya Defense Zones for basic training. Since, in contrast to most of the other new fighters, she had already gained her first experiences in guerrilla life in Northern Kurdistan, she was able to help others to get used to it. After that she was in Heftanin for three years and showed great responsibility for all details of life and struggle. She trained ideologically and militarily and completed a training course at the Şehîd Berîtan Academy and other specialist training in modern guerrilla tactics. She then spent two years as commander of the YJA Star training other fighters. She later took on central tasks that required a great deal of trust in her.

In 2021 she went to Avaşîn and resisted the Turkish invasion. She played a leading role in the development of guerrilla warfare in mobile small groups. Together with her comrades-in-arms, she made a significant contribution to the fact that the Turkish troops were held up and stuck on the occupied peaks. She continued this struggle until the last moment of her life.

The HPG express their condolences to the relatives of Ronahî Devrim, the population of Erdîş and the people of Kurdistan and declare that the fight of the fallen continues.
