The letter from the ministry, released late Tuesday evening (local time), is a court document. This was also accompanied by an explosive photo from Trump’s mansion in Palm Beach, Florida.

The recording shows documents classified as top secret. Several folders lie on the floor in the ex-president’s private residence. At least five of them are marked “Top Secret”. According to media reports, the picture was taken by the FBI.

In early August, the FBI searched Trump’s mansion. The federal police confiscated several sets of documents classified as top secret. Donald Trump may have broken the law by keeping the records after his term in office.

Trump criticized the actions of the authorities as politically motivated. The Republican was president from 2017 to 2021, he could run for a second term in 2024.

During the search, emergency services confiscated numerous boxes containing more than a hundred confidential documents. Some of these were subject to the highest levels of secrecy, as the ministry now wrote. Secret documents were also found not only in the storage room, but also in Trump’s office there.

Last week, Donald Trump asked for a so-called “Special Master” in a Florida court. So a special representative to check the confiscated documents. On Saturday, the responsible judge announced her preliminary intention to appoint such a neutral examiner.

In the court document now filed against Trump’s application, the ministry argued that, as a former president, Trump was no longer entitled to the documents. These would “not belong to him” but be government property.
