Homeland Prize 2022: the winner has been chosen

Consisting of Mayoress Bettina Weist, Christiane Schmidt, Head of the Office for Communication and City Marketing, Heinz Enxing, Honorary Chairman of the Association for Local and Local History, Susanne Schalz, Artist “MAGAZIN”, and Diego Witjes and Marina Lindenau, Youth Council, have eleven applications the most convincing project selected. The jury is still silent about who won.

The “Heimat Prize” is intended to honor voluntary commitment. The city of Gladbeck therefore also offered the “Heimat Prize” in the amount of 5,000 euros in 2022. Anyone who is working on or has completed a project that stands for our city and our region in a special way could apply.

“I am enthusiastic about the outstanding commitment to our home town of Gladbeck. The decision was not easy for us, but we came to a unanimous conclusion. The jury will announce the winner at the award ceremony at the end of October in the presence of all applicants,” says Mayor Bettina Weist.

The Heimat Prize is an initiative of the state government of North Rhine-Westphalia. Municipalities should draw public attention to their outstanding commitment to shaping their home on site. Since 2019, districts, cities and municipalities in North Rhine-Westphalia have had the opportunity to award a local homeland prize. The home prize for cities belonging to the district is endowed with 5,000 euros.
