Megalomania, ugly pictures and copyright infringement included

Former US President Donald Tump is always at the forefront when it comes to questionable marketing ideas or the like. Now there are even Trump NFTs. Ugly collection cards of manageable quality, but at steep prices and with possible copyright infringement. Theoretically, the perfect Christmas present for young and old Trump fans, but unfortunately the collection cards, which cost around 100 US dollars each, are already sold out.

Trump NFTs: The Perfect Christmas Gift. Not.

If there’s one thing Trump fans have been waiting for, it certainly has been… no Trump NFTs. And yet they exist now. Incredibly ugly collector’s cards of the former US President at completely exorbitant prices, which, according to a report by CBS, naturally sell like hot cakes among fans and are already sold out in less than a day. That flushed 4.5 million US dollars into the coffers of the providers.

There is Trump in an aviator outfit, Texas Ranger Trump, astronaut Tump or Trump with a shotgun and cowboy hat. Everything cobbled together with…let’s call it “manageable” Photoshop skills.

A number of these NFT collection cards are (or rather were) offered on the TrumpCard website. With the unique opportunity to win great prizes. Anyone who bought 45 of these tickets could look forward to a gala dinner with the hero.

Cost: $99. Per ticket. For around 4,500 US dollars you can dine with the ex-president. Apparently there are some interested parties, at least in the USA, like him “hopefully favorite president of all time, better than Lincoln, better than Washington,” in his announcement video on Truth Social Media.

You can find the heroic and Oscar-ready staged announcement video for this “impressive works of art,” so Trump, by the way also on the TrumpCards website. It goes without saying that the TrumpCards can neither be exchanged nor returned.

Trump NFTs with potential copyright infringement

Included in the one-time price of just $99 per dump… pardon, Trump Card, is potential copyright infringement. As the website Gizmodo reports, the designers put so much effort into it that a reverse image search shows that the images were simply stolen from the Internet.

Pants from a hunting shop here, a cowboy outfit from a California costume shop there. Behind the whole NFT project is NFT INT LLC, which is based in a small row of shops in Utah, USA.

When asked by Gizmodo, the company announced that the funds for the NFT collection cards were not of a political nature and would not go towards Trump’s re-election campaign. Trump or his companies are not involved. Apparently, even extensive research has not been able to prove who is ultimately behind it.

In any case, the absurdity of the Trump NFTs can hardly be surpassed. The fact that these 45,000 digital, useless and ugly trading cards were completely sold out in just a few hours and generated 4.5 million US dollars is all the more astonishing.

So, who wants to swap Golfer Trump in the best Woods pose for Gold Bullion Trump?
