More and more details are coming to light about the attacks on the Nord Stream pipelines. Investigators came across the 15-meter yacht “Andromeda”.

It is 15.5 meters long and 4.47 meters wide, has five cabins with ten berths and, thanks to its comprehensive equipment, is fully seaworthy: The sailing yacht “Andromeda”, type Bavaria Cruiser 50, is said to have been used by the sabotage team, which destroyed the two Nord Stream pipelines with underwater explosions last September. This was found out by a team of international investigators who are looking for the perpetrators of the attacks and apparently identified the yacht used for the attacks. “Pro-Ukrainian” circles are said to be behind the crime.

The identities of the people who rented the ship at the time of the crime are still unclear. They had presented false papers to the landlord. As has become known, the group is said to have consisted of five men and one woman, including the captain, two divers, two diving assistants and a doctor. Experts are convinced that those involved in the crime must be well-trained professionals, such as those who serve in various secret services or military units.

According to research by “Spiegel”, the yacht with its home port of Rostock also made a stop on the island of Rügen. Officials from the Federal Criminal Police Office questioned witnesses there and looked at port documents. The federal prosecutor’s office only stated to the news magazine that they had a ship searched from January 18 to 20 in connection with a suspicious rental.
