Memory locality The oasis in the forest You really can’t miss the first memory of the game. After completing your first Tír na nÓg and then starting Chapter 3, you will cross a blue vine and then follow the path to a clearing where you can spot the Jade Hill Hideout. A premonition Examine the blue butterflies at the back of the Shelter in Lightfeather Grove to unlock the second memory. Tracks with an unknown destination After scrambling up the Feenreich Observatory in Chapter 4, you will enter the new Watchtower area, where you can directly spot the blue butterflies in the center of the platform, which you must examine for this memory. Playing Wisps Save at least 14 will-o’-the-wisps, so that their refuge is expanded to the left, where you can reach it via a staircase. There is a large wooden bridge up there that sits just above the shelter and overlooks the refuge. Here you can find the blue butterflies. loudmouth At the beginning of chapter 6 you are in the mistral woods, where after a short time you will find the huge, red claw marks of an unknown being. From there, use the mushroom platform to catapult yourself up, slip under the bud crushers, and follow the path to the top where the blue butterflies await. The cage of the beast When you arrive at Dragonfalls during Chapter 7, you will immediately reach the lair where the blue butterflies linger on a ledge overlooking the entire area. What are the fairies planning? From the start of Chapter 11, return to the Witherbark Forest and follow the same path you previously took with Cereza alone. Take the path to the left on the third steel tower, absorb the fire elemental energy there and, at the end, run up the tower where the blue butterflies are. Beyond the barrier From the start of Chapter 11, after destroying all four elemental cores, you can use the path to the right of the Jade Hill Safehouse to get to the Forbidden Land. To do this, first absorb the stone elemental energy in the back of the area and then use Fire Cheshire to destroy the frozen branches. The blue butterflies are sitting right at the entrance of the area and are waiting for you. The sacred tree After venturing into the Overgrown Shrine during Chapter 11, you can find the blue butterflies there at the Shelter just past Ignis. Be quiet! Once you’ve unlocked the Shelter at Lake Nimueh by completing the Tír na nÓg “Pressure” during Chapter 8, you can use a lily pad to slide back to the area before it. There you go onto the onion platform that is floating up and down and use Cheshire’s watersteel to rotate the bridge on your left towards you. Jump over with the foxtail, turn the bridge to the other side and use the next foxtail there. Follow the path to the left to the blue butterflies. Magical water From the start of Chapter 11, after destroying all four elemental cores, you can use the path to the right of the Jade Hill Safehouse to get to the Forbidden Land. To do this, first absorb the stone elemental energy in the back of the area and then use Fire Cheshire to destroy the frozen branches. Follow the path over the flying onion platforms to the next shelter and use the next onion platforms on the right. At the fork, take the left path to a new area of Tufts of Light Grove, where you’ll find a grotto with the butterflies. Quarters of the Queen Destroying the Water Elemental Core gives you the option, the next time you can fast travel, to go to Dragonfalls and from there back to the Giant Basin, which you can now explore. Follow the long path through the basin, past laser beams and over numerous flying onion platforms, to finally come to the Palace of Silence. Here you will find a new shelter and the blue butterflies on its right side. A beach?! Once you can use Cereza’s restoration skills, you’ll be able to enter an entirely new and optional area via Lake Nimueh. To do this, run from the lake shelter a bit down to the right and use the foxtail to jump to the flying onion platforms. From there you use the restoration first at the floating platforms and then at the stone bridges to get to Sunkiss Coast. Here ride on your lily pad to the back area where you can find the blue butterflies at the shelter. Garden of lily pads During Chapter 8 you must complete the Tír na nÓg “Pointing” at the Stump Plateau. If you then follow the path to the right, you can’t miss these blue butterflies. heroes of the forest Find and free everyone will-o’-the-wisps in the Forest of Avalon and then returns to the Will-o’-the-Wisp Sanctuary on Forgotten Rise. Talk to Colm to start the memory directly. The blue butterflies then sit directly to his right.
