The race in Bahrain is now followed by the next Grand Prix on the Arabian Peninsula. At the weekend, Formula 1 will be making a guest appearance in the Saudi Arabian coastal city of Jeddah, and will be driven on the Jeddah Corniche Circuit.
Last year, the reigning world champion Max Verstappen was able to prevail in the Red Bull, the Dutchman also secured first place at the start of the 2023 season in Bahrain almost two weeks ago.
Behind Verstappen, team-mate Sergio Perez finished second, with Fernando Alonso in the Aston Martin surprisingly taking third place. The German pilot Nico Hülkenberg (Haas) ended up in 15th place.
The free practice sessions will provide an initial indication of how the cars are doing in Saudi Arabia, before qualifying and the race really get down to business.
