The president of the international gas transport company (TGI), Mónica Contrerasannounced today that the gas supply has been partially restored in some homes in Manizales, Cali, Cartago, Palmira and Pereira, after the interruption that had been experienced in recent days. Contreras affirmed that this measure represents a significant step towards the normalization of the situation.
As of 9 pm today, the gas supply will begin in the industrial sector of these cities, numerous companies and establishments that depend on this energy resource. The expectation is that, gradually, gas supply can return to normal in all affected areas.
In this context, the president of TGI emphasized the importance of keeping gas registers and valves closed both in homes and in commercial establishments. This measure is essential to avoid any risk of leaks or accidents related to the gas supply.
Besides, Contreras informed that TGI has made an investment of 4 million dollars with the objective of guaranteeing a continuous and reliable supply of gas in the affected area.. This investment seeks to strengthen the infrastructure and distribution systems, ensuring that the energy demands of the population and the productive sectors can be met.
On the other hand, it has been reported that, despite the adverse situation, there will be no changes in the gas rate for users. However, some distributors have chosen to make temporary changes to the gas supply, using other fuels to guarantee service to affected homes and businesses. It has not yet been determined if these changes in the supply source will have any impact on the final price that users will have to pay for the service.
