Mexico City.- The death of a young baseball player, Ángel Mercado Ocasio, was recently announced. He died at the age of 19 due to injuries suffered by the structure of a dugout that collapsed. This occurred while he was serving as an assistant in a Pennsylvania League game in the United States.
What did Angel Mercado die of?
The young promise of Latino baseball, according to Fox 43, was last Monday helping in a youth league that takes place in Harrisburg Park. Everything was going according to plan, until Mercado Ocasio set out to dismantle a dugout (the bench where the players are).
The worst happened moments later, since when the young man was doing his work, the dugout collapsed and left Mercado trapped in the remains of the structure.
Unfortunately, the structure caused terrible injuries to the 19-year-old, who, after being transferred to a hospital, died a day later (last Tuesday).
