The CNH authorized Pemex to drill the Madrefil-101EXP onshore well.
The governing body of the National Hydrocarbons Commission (CNH) gave authorization to Pemex Exploration and Production (PEP) to drill the Madrefil-101EXP onshore exploratory well, in the state of Tabasco.
The Madrefil-101EXP well is contemplated in the incremental scenario of the modification to the current exploration plan, corresponding to the Assignment AE-0141-2M-COMALCALCO, approved by the CNH through the fictitious affirmative certificate of October 11, 2022, through official letter number 220.0729/2022.
The prospectus of the state production company is located in the municipality of Cunduacán, Tabasco, 22 kilometers northeast of the municipality of Cárdenas, Tabasco.
The main objective of the well is to discover a commercial accumulation of superlight oil, contained in carbonate rocks from the Upper Jurassic Kimmeridgian.
The Madrefil-101EXP well will have a directional trajectory, type “J”, with a programmed total depth of 6,775 mvbomr to 6,970 mdbomr.
The Hydrocarbon expected by the assignee is super light oil of 39 degrees API, with prospective resources at average risk of 5.8 million barrels of crude oil equivalent, with a probability of geological success of 39%.
The drilling and completion programs contemplate a total of 177 days: 136 days for drilling (from June 8 to October 22, 2023), and 41 days for completion (from October 22 to December 2, 2023).
