The price of gasoline in New York has increased due to the increase in oil prices. The current national average for a gallon of gas is $3.88, which is an increase of five cents from last week. In New York state, the average price is $3.92, three cents higher than the previous week. The price of oil has reached $90 per barrel, leading to an increase in gasoline prices at gas stations.
According to the Energy Information Administration (EIA), gasoline demand has decreased while domestic gasoline stocks have increased. Despite the decline in demand, high oil prices have kept prices at the pump high. This has also affected diesel prices, with a national average of $4.58 per gallon, up 10 cents from last week, although down from the price of $4.96 a year ago.
