One of the great enemies of live action One Piece could have already appeared through a theory and its creator continues to leave doubts

Netflix’s One Piece continues to increase its success as the weeks go by. After a grand premiere and having fallen in love with the fans of the series with the enormous love put in every framethe series confirmed a second season that will introduce another member of the crew of the Straw hat. However, there is something about the first season that has left many of us thinking about one of the most famous theories of the entire series.

Well, now the showrunner from the series, Steven Maedawanted to talk about the situation in an interview with IGN, but instead of clarifying the situation, the scriptwriter wanted to leave the door open to doubts.
“I’ve heard that. I’ve been contacted about it before and all I have to say is read what you want. A lot of thought went into the easter eggs. And part of that is future planning, and a lot of that was: ‘ Hey, wouldn’t it be cool if we saw this character?’ “We know that character was there in the background, particularly in Loguetown, in the Gold Roger execution, so a lot of thought went into the reward signs and seeing characters in the crowd.”.
Both Eiichiro Oda and the showrunners are aware of this theory and, unsurprisingly, want stick with that theory until it becomes official. This, although it may seem like a joke, is something that its author does on many occasions with many concepts in the series, leaving clues throughout the story and resolving them at the right time and place.
Many theories have been confirmed after many years within the series, such as the Luffy’s new transformation in the last arc of the series or the past of one of the members of the Straw Hat crew, but there are still quite a few questions waiting for an official answer before the series ends.
