This morning, from the centenary Mestalla Stadium, the draw for matches of the World Paella Day Cup 2023 was held, elucidating which chefs will face each other in the first phase of the championship – which will take place this Wednesday in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento of Valencia – and which can be followed by streaming from 10 in the morning.
During the event, in which the twelve chefs international, the jury appointed by the World Paella Day organization has also been announced, which will be made up of Juan RamosStem (Llisa Negra’s head chef), Carmina Crespo (manager of the l’Altet restaurant and Wikipaella distinction of honor), Cristina Prados (BonAmb room manager and 2022 National Room Award), Yvonne Acididia (sommelier and pit manager at Apicius), José Manuel Casañ (Social Security singer), Sam Giansante (finalist of the World Paella Day Cup 2021) and Juani Kittlein (runner-up of the World Paella Day Cup 2022).

On the other hand, this is the schedule of all the events that will take place on Wednesday during the World Paella Day Cup:
10:00 a.m.: Start of the Semifinal (twelve paellas)
11:00 a.m.: Deliberation and announcement of the six finalists by the jury
11:30 a.m.: Start of the final (six paellas)
12:30 p.m.: Arrival of the authorities and attention to the media
1:00 p.m.: Announcement of the winner of the World Paella Day Cup
World Paella Day is an initiative promoted by the Valencia City Council, through Visit València, together with the Tourist Board of the Provincial Council of Valencia, Turisme Comunitat Valenciana and Turespaña with the collaboration of the DO Arroz de Valencia, the Valencia Hospitality Federation, Wikipaella and the Sueca Valencian Paella Competition.
The objective is to give visibility to the most international Valencian dish and the recognition that Valencian gastronomy deserves.
