DTwo people died in a spectacular accident in the city of Chicago, in the United States, after stealing a car, driving in the opposite direction and causing an accident in a chain with seven other vehicles, causing several injuries.
The incident took place on Wednesday afternoon, after the suspects (and fatalities) had stolen a sports car.
According to local police, quoted by ABC News, the vehicle proceeded at high speed through an intersection and hit seven vehicles, before coming to a stop at a corner and bursting into flames.
Inside the car, after extinguishing the fire, firefighters found the two occupants dead, in addition to a firearm. The police have not yet identified the fatalities.
In the images released, it is possible to see the various vehicles affected, including one that ended up overturning.
The sequence of clashes also caused eleven innocent injuries, and most were sent to hospital units, with minor injuries. Among the injured are an undetermined number of children.
Cited by ABC, the mayor of Chicago, Lori Lightfoot, warned at a press conference about the risks of driving too fast, calling for “respect for others”. “If people don’t have respect for themselves and others, we will have more tragedies,” the ‘mayor said, adding that the accident left her “broken”.
