The latest survey carried out by the Consumer Protection and Defense Program (Procon) office in Santa Cruz do Sul shows that looking for the best fuel prices at gas stations is worthwhile. The difference between the highest recorded price of regular gasoline, R$5.17 per liter, and the lowest, R$4.79, was R$0.38. With this, the economy to fill a tank of 50 liters reaches R$ 19.00. The Public Ministry (MP) maintains an administrative procedure to monitor the variation in fuel prices in Santa Cruz do Sul. In a letter sent to the press, the Specialized Justice prosecutor, Érico Barin, emphasized that the intention is to encourage price competition between establishments and favor consumers.

In a comparison with the price of fuel in Lajeado, a municipality in the Vale do Taquari and 60 kilometers from Santa Cruz, the MP found that the population of Santa Cruz paid up to R$ 0.32 more per liter in September this year. year. In the first comparison of November this year, the difference between the lowest prices of common gasoline in the two cities fell to R$ 0.03.

“The Public Prosecutor’s Office continues to advise citizens to always do price research (on the local Procon website or on the Menorpreço Nota Gaúcha application) before each supply, prioritizing the gas stations that offer the lowest prices. In addition, the Public Ministry informs that, in judicial and extrajudicial actions, it will continue to act so that Santa Cruz do Sul returns to having fuel prices at the lowest levels in the interior of the State”, says an excerpt from the document sent by the MP.

Balanced values ​​in October and November

The most recent survey by Procon on fuel prices in Santa Cruz do Sul, carried out on Tuesday, pointed out that prices for last month remain balanced in comparison with the current month. In the November 22 survey, carried out with 30 establishments in rural and urban areas of the municipality, it was observed that the average price of regular gasoline was R$ 4.97. The highest value recorded was R$ 5.19 and the lowest, R$ 4.79.

In the October 21 survey, regular gasoline in Santa Cruz, when paying in cash, was found for R$ 4.99. The reduction is 0.4% in 30 days. In the same period, the average price of diesel oil reduced by three cents, from R$ 6.49 on October 21st to R$ 6.46 on November 22nd: a drop of 0.46%.

On the website of the City Hall of Santa Cruz do Sul, it is possible to check the results of the surveys, which are carried out weekly. Between the November 18 price consultation and the most recent survey, last Tuesday, the average price of common gasoline rose 0.4%. Additive gasoline increased by 0.39%, and diesel rose from R$6.34 per liter in the average price to R$6.46, that is, an increase of 1.89%

Another fuel that had a drop in price was cooking gas. There was a reduction of 0.39% between the surveys on November 18th and 22nd, with the average price going from R$ 110.00 to R$ 108.33. The product also maintained stability in the price charged to consumers in the last month in Santa Cruz. In the survey by Procon on October 21, the average price of a 13-kilogram cylinder was R$ 110.00, maintaining the reduction rate of 0.39% between the end of October and the end of November.
