Powerful Prayer of Saint Joseph for Employment
Dear Saint Joseph, you yourself have already faced the responsibility of providing for the necessities of life for Jesus and Mary. Look upon me with fatherly compassion in my anxiety over my current inability to support my family. Please help me to find gainful employment very soon so that this heavy burden of worry will be lifted from my heart and I can soon provide for those God has entrusted to my care. Help me to guard against discouragement, so that I may come out of this test spiritually enriched and with greater blessings from God. Amen.
Pray to get a job
O Saint Joseph, whose protection is so great, so strong, so ready before the throne of God, I place all my interests and desires in you. Please help me with your powerful intercession and obtain for me from your Divine Son all spiritual blessings through Jesus Christ, Our Lord, so that I can find a job soon and support my family. O Saint Joseph, I never tire of praying to you, and of thinking of the baby Jesus sleeping in your arms. Ask Jesus for help in my job search. O Saint Joseph, hear my prayers and obtain my petitions. O Saint Joseph, pray for me.
History of San Jose
Little is known of Our Lord’s foster father in Scripture, other than the fact that, as a “just man” (Mt 1:19), he displayed the honorable intention when he discovered that Mary was pregnant with Jesus to quietly divorce her. (to “keep her private” as we read in the traditional texts) and not expose her to shame and the very real possibility of death by stoning for adultery!
Fortunately, this became a problem when an angel informed him that she was carrying our Lord through the Holy Spirit so that we could be saved from our sins (Matt 1:20). It was to Saint Joseph that an angel gave the warning to flee to Egypt with his wife and the Child Jesus, so that our Lord would not be murdered by the minions of the envious King Herod (Mt 2:13-16).
Saint Joseph is seen in Sacred Tradition and in these examples of Scripture as a good and honorable man, a humble carpenter dedicated to his Holy Family, our Blessed Mother and her adopted son Jesus. He passed away when Jesus was young, before Our Lord began His earthly ministry.
Saint Joseph is known as the patron saint of countless people and professions, including unborn children, parents, immigrants, laborers, carpenters and civil engineers, to name just a few. He is also the patron saint of doubt and hesitation and happy death. In the 19th century, Blessed Pope Pius IX proclaimed Saint Joseph Patron and Protector of the Universal Church.
