The series depicts a large part of the life of the criminal, from his troubled childhood marked by the divorce of his parents to his arrest on July 22, 1991, until his death in prison, under the blows of one of his cellmates…

Sentenced to 957 years in prison in 1992 after being convicted of murder, necrophilia and cannibalism, Jeffrey Dahmer was killed on November 28, 1994 while serving his sentence at Columbia Correctional Institution in Wisconsin. That day, Dahmer, and his fellow inmates, Jesse Anderson and Christopher Scarver, were ushered out of their cell to go about their daily chores. Enjoying some unsupervised time in the showers, Christopher Scarver, 25, violently attacked Dahmer and Anderson with an iron bar. Seriously injured in the head, the two men were transferred to the nearest hospital. Jeffrey Dahmer died less than an hour later, followed by Jesse Anderson, who succumbed to his injuries after 48 hours in hospital.

Christopher Scarver, a criminal driven by revenge?

But who is the murderer of Jeffrey Dahmer? Born on July 6, 1969 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Christopher J. Scarver is an American criminal sentenced to life in prison in 1992 for the murder of one of his colleagues. On June 1, 1990, after being denied a full-time position at the construction company he worked for, Scarver decided to exact revenge by demanding financial compensation from his former manager, John P. Feyen. Under the influence of alcohol and to prove the seriousness of his request, the young man fired a bullet in the head of one of his colleagues, a worker named Steve Lohman, who died instantly. John P. Feyen then handed him a check for $3,000, but Scarver was arrested in the process.

After the murders of Jeffrey Dahmer and Jesse Anderson, Christopher Scarver was sentenced to two additional life sentences. It is said that the young criminal, African-American, would have attacked his fellow prisoners because of the nature of their respective crimes. Indeed, most of Dahmer’s victims were African American men, and Anderson, who had killed his wife with multiple stab wounds, had tried to blame two black men. Scarver is said to have once said “Nothing white people do to black people is right.” So he would have killed Dahmer and Anderson out of revenge, just as he had done in his first murder, in 1990.

hatred in the soul

Moreover, during an interview granted to the New York Post in 2015, Christopher Scarver explained that he developed a hatred for Dahmer due to his behavior in prison. In the refectory, the serial killer used to cut the thighs or the wings of the meat which was served to him, to sprinkle them with ketchup as a substitute for blood and to give them to the other prisoners. He overstepped his bounds with some people – prisoners, staff. In prison, some people repent. It was not his case“Said Scarver in the columns of the Post. He also explained that he was provoked by Dahmer and Anderson on the day of the double-murder.

In 2012, Scarver reportedly got in touch with several publishing houses with the aim of telling the world “sadistic and sickening maneuvers and pranks” that Dahmer inflicted on prison officials and his fellow prisoners during his detention. Nevertheless, the work never saw the light of day. After spending sixteen years in solitary confinement, Scarver was transferred to the Centennial Correctional Facility , Colorado. There’s remains incarcerated, and will remain so for the rest of his life.
