In anticipation of the possible arrest of the former president, Twitter user Eliot Higgins has released an AI program on the prediction that Trump sent out this weekend. Fake news, of course, although some of the generated images are convincing enough to make some twitterers doubt.

And it wasn’t just Trump who had to believe it. The AI program also sketched a picture of the reaction of his son Donald Junior and his wife Melania.

Although the images are primarily made for laughter, they also raise questions. Has it become too easy to create fake news and mislead people? Are AI programs getting too good at creating fake images?
If you look at the images long enough, you will of course notice a few mistakes. For example, in the first ‘photo’ Trump is wearing a police belt with a baton, in another Trump even appears to be a police officer. Faces are not equally successful in every image and in the last photo a police officer wears a cap with ‘piuliece’ instead of ‘police’.
According to some tweeters, the depicted emotions are also not always correct. For example, Melania “would not be sad or angry” with a possible arrest of her husband, someone says in the comments. She would grin from ear to ear.
