The death toll from the stampede in the South Korean capital, Seoul, during the “Halloween” party, today, Saturday, has risen to 146, the South Korean authorities announced.
And accounts on the social networking site “Twitter” posted videos of scenes from the stampede in the South Korean capital.
The accident occurred at approximately 10:20 pm local time (13:20 GMT), as a large number of people fell into a narrow alley during Halloween celebrations.
The official had stated in a previous toll that 59 people had been killed and 150 others had been injured.
And the Civil Defense initially announced that dozens of people had suffered a heart attack in the Itaewon neighborhood in the center of the capital during Halloween celebrations.
In South Korea, the Civil Defense uses the term “cardiac arrest” because only doctors officially announce the death.
A spokesman for the fire department confirmed that 140 ambulances were sent to care for the victims.
