Today, Wednesday, the global search engine, Google, celebrates the birthday of the novelist Ihsan Abdel Quddous, one of the first Arab novelists who dealt in their stories with love far from virginity, and most of his stories turned into cinematic films, by placing his picture on his mural, which is due on January 1, 2023.

Who is Ihsan Abdel Quddous?

The great writer and novelist Ihsan Abdel Quddous was born on January 1, 1919 in Cairo.

His father, engineer Mohamed Abdel Quddous, enrolled him in one of the Abbasid writers at a young age, before he moved to study at El Silehdar Elementary School in Bab El Fotouh district in central Cairo under the auspices of the music teacher at the time, Mohamed Abdel Wahhab.

After completing primary school, he moved to Khalil Agha School, then Fouad I School, and obtained the Tawjihiyyah in 1938.

He graduated from Fouad I University from the Faculty of Law in 1942.

He was the editor-in-chief of Rose Al-Youssef magazine, when he was 26 years old, a magazine founded by his mother.

After that, he took over the editor-in-chief of Akhbar Al-Youm newspaper.


Abdel Quddous won many awards, most notably the award for Best Film Story for his famous novel, which was turned into a successful heroic film, “The Bullet Is Still in My Pocket.”

Abdel Quddous is the owner of the largest number of works that have been turned into movies and TV series.
