The official Iranian website, Quds Online, reported that the head of the fifteenth branch of the Revolutionary Court, Abu al-Qasim Salawati, was assassinated late in the evening (Thursday) while in the Niavaran neighborhood, north of Tehran. Salawati is currently under sanctions from the United States and the European Union for widespread and serious violations of the rights of Iranians, due to his death and death sentences.
