George Wassouf bid farewell to his son Wadih to his final resting place at St. Nicholas Church

The Sultan of Tarab bid farewell to George Wassouf, his eldest son Wadih, at St. Nicholas Church – Ashrafieh, on Sunday morning, and George appeared with features of sadness and refraction on him, surrounded by his children and family members.

The stars Walid Tawfiq, Ramy Ayyash, Assi El-Hellani, Marwan Khoury, Maya Diab, Melhem Zain and Nadine El-Rassi offered their condolences yesterday, Saturday, to the Sultan of Tarab, George Wassouf, in the deposit of his eldest son, in the salon of St. Nicholas Church of the Greek Orthodox “Al-Ashrafiya”.

Wadih George Wassouf, son of the great artist George Wassouf, passed away on Friday, after a health crisis he suffered as a result of the complications of the “gastrectomy” operation he had recently performed.

The last hours witnessed the death of Wadih George Wassouf, his admission to the hospital on December 27 to undergo a gastric bypass operation, and after the operation he returned home, but during the past days he suffered stomach bleeding, so he was transferred to “Saint Joseph” Hospital.

Wadih George Wassouf suffered a heart attack and entered intensive care surrounded by his friends and family, and he resisted the disease until his last breath.

A number of Lebanese stars mourned on the social media pages Wadih, the son of the great artist George Wassouf, where Elisa wrote on her page: “The band is very difficult, O Lord, your wisdom is greater, but the separation hurts a lot and the calamity is great. The pain of parting. May God give you strength.”

And Carole Samaha wrote: “I am not able to believe what this sad news is, Wadih George Wassouf.


Funeral

The Lebanese star Diana Haddad mourned the son of the star George Wassouf, commenting on the social networking page Twitter, and said: “Wadih George Wassouf, oh God, this news is difficult and ugly. May God have mercy on him and give patience to the heart of his family, the heart of our teacher George Wassouf.”

Singer Nawal Al Zoghbi wrote on her social media page, “May God have mercy on you, Wadih, and give patience to your mother and father.”

A number of Egyptian stars also mourned him, as the artist Hany Shaker presented the obituary on the death of the star’s son, George Wassouf, as he commented on the social networking page, saying: “With hearts that believe in God’s will and destiny, you only say what pleases God. We belong to God and to Him we shall return. I share my brother and my beloved artist. The great George Wassouf mourns the death of his dear son Wadih, and pray for him to be patient with this great trial, the trial of the prophets.

The star, Angham Wadih, mourned the son of the star, George Wassouf, as she commented on the social networking page Twitter and said: “There is no power or strength except with God..my sincere condolences on the death of Wadih George Wassouf. We belong to Allah and to Him we shall return”.
