Who is Sheikh Saud Al-Shuraim?
Saud bin Ibrahim bin Muhammad bin Ibrahim Al Shuraim, from the thigh of the Harakis, from the well-known Bani Zayd in Najd, was born in Riyadh in the year (1386 AH) as the imam of the Grand Mosque in Mecca from the period from 1412 AH – and still is, the dean of the College of Judicial Studies and Regulations, Umm Al-Qura University previously, and the imam and preacher of the mosque Al-Haram and a former judge in the Great Court in Makkah Al-Mukarramah. In the year 1413 AH, he was appointed as a judge in the Great Sharia Court in Makkah Al-Mukarramah, and he was assigned to teach in the Grand Mosque in the year 1414 AH.
His grandfather, Muhammad bin Ibrahim Al-Shuraim, was the Emir of Shaqra after the death of Hajraf Al-Bawardi in the year 1322, and he continued until the year 1325. Then he asked for exemption from the emirate, and the emirate took over after him, Muhammad bin Saud Al-Issa until his death in the year 1340, and his family are Al-Shuraim, the people of Shaqra and Al-Sir. The deceased in 1363 AH.
He studied elementary school in Areen School, then middle school in the Model School, then secondary school in Yarmouk Comprehensive High School, from which he graduated in 1404 AH, then joined the Faculty of Fundamentals of Religion at Muhammad bin Saud University in Riyadh, Department of Contemporary Doctrines and Doctrines, from which he graduated in 1409 AH, then joined the Higher Institute of Judiciary in 1410 AH and obtained a master’s degree In the year 1413 AH, he learned from a number of sheikhs, including Sheikh Ibn Baz, Sheikh Ibn Jibreen, Sheikh Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz bin Aqil, Sheikh Abdullah bin Abdul Rahman Al-Ghadian, Sheikh Saleh Al-Fawzan, and Sheikh Fahd Al-Hassan.
Positions held by Sheikh Saud Al-Shuraim
He held several positions, including: In 1410 AH, he was appointed as a scholar at the Higher Judicial Institute, and in 1412 AH, he was appointed as an imam and preacher of the Grand Mosque, and in 1413 AH, he was appointed as a judge in the Great Court in Makkah Al-Mukarramah, and in 1414 AH he was assigned to teach at the Grand Mosque, and in 1416 AH. Hijri completed his Ph.D. at Umm Al-Qura University in Makkah Al-Mukarramah.

In the year 1410 AH, he was appointed as a scholar at the Higher Institute of Judiciary
In 1412 AH, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques ordered him to be appointed as an imam and preacher at the Grand Mosque. Before that, he was a famous imam in Riyadh, the capital of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
In the year 1413 AH, he was appointed, by royal order, as a judge in the Great Court in Makkah Al-Mukarramah, then he was relieved of the judiciary, based on his repeated requests, shortly after his appointment.
In the year 1414 AH, the Royal Approval was issued, assigning him to teach in the Grand Mosque
He moved to work as a professor in the Judicial Department at the College of Sharia at Umm Al-Qura University.
He holds a professorship in jurisprudence and its principles, and was previously the dean of the Faculty of Sharia and Islamic Studies.
In the year 1432 AH, a decision was issued assigning him a dean of the College of Judicial Studies and Regulations (newly developed at Umm Al-Qura University), in addition to his work as dean of the College of Sharia until a dean is appointed for it, and that was done.
He is now the dean of the College of Judicial Studies at Umm Al-Qura University
He is the founder of two unique colleges in this university, one of which is the College of Judicial Studies and Regulations, and the second is the College of Islamic Economic and Financial Sciences.
