Hair dyed blond, a braid on the left shoulder, the young woman did not speak during the brief hearing before judge Maria Albanese. The lawyers essentially explained to the judge that they were continuing their discussions for the accused’s “exit plan”. The Prosecution opposes for the moment his release. The case will return to court on Thursday.

The fatal accident occurred on the morning of September 15 in the service road of Highway 15 North near Boulevard du Souvenir in Laval. Out on the road following a collision between their two vehicles, Stéphane Taillon, 53, was reportedly mowed down by Alexandra Gagné-Faucher’s vehicle. The accused then allegedly fled.

Alexandra Gagné-Faucher has several criminal records. In 2017, at the Joliette courthouse, she was sentenced to 12 months probation on charges of drugs, obstructing police work and unauthorized possession of prohibited or restricted weapons, filed by summary procedure, therefore less serious.

She was also found guilty of several offenses under the Highway Safety Code.
