On September 23, 2022, Max Raabe released “Ein Tag wie Gold”, the next single from his album “Who has a bad mood here”. He wrote the song with Annette Humpe and produced it together with Tom Tykwer and Johnny Klimek.
Tom Tykwer, Achim von Borries and Henk Handloegten staged Max Raabe as singer Emil Engel in their new season of Babylon Berlin. “A Day Like Gold” is the title track of the current fourth season soundtrack published by BMG.
In a wonderful interweaving of fiction and reality, Max Raabe can already be experienced in the music video for the track as an actor of his own profession. Who is in a bad mood here? Max Raabe asks with his new album and sings about love, about its tender blossoming and Gone away from feelings and their confusion. It is about the amalgamation of happiness and doubt, of euphoria and insecurity, of joy in others and quarrels with oneself.
Together with old acquaintances, Raabe set to music and lyrics – namely Annette Humpe, Achim Hagemann, Christoph Israel, Joshua Lange, Peter Plate and Ulf Leo Sommer – and let his fine humor be accompanied by great sound. 13 new songs were created on They will be released digitally and on CD on October 14, 2022 by Deutsche Grammophon; only one month later, on November 11th, the vinyl is also available.
