Former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) published a video walking through an establishment of the Publix supermarket chain and some Bolsonaristas are seeing it as a “sign”. The publication was made on the ‘Bolsonaro TV’ profile, in which the former president promotes the app of the same name.

In the publication there are no details about when the video was filmed. He looks at the camera and waves. The video was originally published by US journalist Jonathan L. Krohn and later replicated on the former president’s updates profile.

Out of Brazil since last Friday (12/30), when he left for Orlando, in the United States, the video was shared without any subtitles. In the comments, some bolsonaristas speculated that the video was a “signal” for a coup that is about to happen in the country.

“Did he mean, GO TO THE MARKET?????”; “ORIENTATION: Go to the market because things are going to get ugly in a few days hemm!!! Interpretation of the video!”; “He gave the message… Stocking up on food will be necessary”, speculated some users.

Since the election results, extremist supporters of the former president have demonstrated throughout Brazil calling for a coup, in an attempt to prevent President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) from governing the country. Lula was sworn in last Sunday (1/1).

posts as president

On social media, Bolsonaro continues to ignore the end of his term (2019 – 2022) and publish figures and measures of his government as if he were still President of the Republic.
