He pointed out that global winds toppled the countries of the world, such as the Ukraine war, which led to the acceleration of global crises such as food, energy, high inflation and debt, stressing that these crises were also exacerbated by the climate and the pandemic.
President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi said that he is looking forward to inaugurating the activities of the 27th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention on Climate Change in Sharm El-Sheikh, COP27, with great pride and honor.
In a post on the social networking site “Facebook”, the President added that the current session of the Climate Summit comes at a very sensitive time, when our world is exposed to existential dangers and unprecedented challenges, affecting the very survival of our planet and our ability to live on it.
He stressed that there is no doubt that these dangers and challenges require quick action by all countries to lay down a road map to rescue, protecting the world from the effects of climate change, and that Egypt is looking forward to the conference’s exit from the stage of promises to the stage of implementation with concrete measures on the ground, building on the foregoing, especially The outcomes of the Glasgow Summit and the Paris Agreement.
