Ronaldo: Leaving Real Madrid is the biggest mistake in my career.. and I hope to play for the royal, even for free

Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo, Manchester United player, said that leaving Real Madrid was the biggest mistake of his career.

Ronaldo broke his silence through a television interview with Piers Morgan, excerpts were published by the newspaper “The Sun”, through which the Portuguese Don made offensive statements against Manchester United, Dutch coach Eric Ten Hag, and former coach Ralph Rangnick.

Ronaldo confirmed, in statements published by the British newspaper “The Sun”, that “leaving from Real Madrid was the biggest mistake in his career, indicating that he wishes to play for the Spanish team, even for free.”

Ronaldo left Real Madrid in the summer of 2018, heading to Juventus, before deciding to return to Manchester United again last season.

Ronaldo confirmed that he felt betrayed by the way the team officials dealt, indicating that he did not respect coach Eric Ten Hag.

Ronaldo stressed, “I do not respect Eric Ten Hag because he does not show respect to me. If you do not respect me, you will never have any respect.”

Ronaldo added: “I felt betrayed in Manchester United … and I became a scapegoat who was blamed for everything that went wrong at the club.”

He continued, “Manchester United tried to force me out, not only the coach, but also the other players in the club. I felt betrayed.”

“I felt that there were some people who didn’t want me at Manchester United, not only this year but last season as well.”

Ronaldo stressed: “Since the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson I have not seen any development in the club, he knows better than anyone that the club is not on the path it deserves. He knows, everyone knows.”

“I think the fans should know the truth. I want the best for the club. That’s why I came here but some things inside that don’t help us reach a higher level like City, Liverpool and now Arsenal.”

He continued: “You have to finish everything to rebuild and if they start with me, that is not a problem for me. I love the club and the fans, they always are, but if they want to do it differently, they have to change a lot of things.”
